Dean Research (Humanities and Social Sciences)

 

Prof. Ujjwal Kumar Singh

Ujjwal Kumar Singh is a Senior Professor in the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi. He has been Visiting Fellow/Professor in universities in India and abroad. His areas of specialization in teaching and research are in the domain of state, democracy and constitutionalism, law and politics, social movements and rights, and political institutions. His recent (co-authored) book The Election Commission of India: Institutionalising Democratic Uncertainties was published by Oxford University Press, Delhi in 2019. His earlier books are Human Rights and Peace: Ideas, Laws, Institutions and Movements (edited), Sage, 2009;  Towards Legal Literacy: An Introduction to the Laws in India (co-edited), Oxford University Press, 2008, The State, Democracy and Anti-Terror Laws in India, Sage, 2007 and Political Prisoners in India, Oxford University Press, 1998. His research articles have appeared in several national and international Scopus indexed journals.

 

 

Dean Reseach (Physical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences) 

 

Prof. Raj Kishore Sharma

Prof. Raj Kishore Sharma is Dean of Research (Physical Sciences & Mathematical Sciences). He is an Electrochemical Materials Scientist and has been working in interdisciplinary themes of Chemistry, Physics and Materials Science for more than 25 years. He has authored about 150 research articles in various scientific journals of repute and has completed many externally funded research projects. In his research laboratory, Prof. Sharma has demonstrated couple of efficiently working laboratory modules of Energy Storage & Conversion Devices, besides the development of sensing devices. Before joining the Chemistry Department, he has obtained overseas research experience in various research laboratories including University of Massachusetts, Amherst, University of Central Florida, USA and Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He was honored with Young Scientist award by International Union of Crystallography in 2001 and also received ICREA Junior researcher award from Government of Spain in 2007. Recently he has been conferred Prof. S.T. Nandibewoor Award by Indian Council of Chemists. Currently as Dean, his interests are to inculcate a culture of translational research in University of Delhi and to establish a connect between industries and University of Delhi and its colleges.
